Electric boilers are the specialty of Reimers. The new design of stacking the boiler with a blowdown tank saves floor space and costs for the customer. A second feature that is less obvious demonstrates the "closed blowdown" design to safely release boiler water and steam. There is no release to surrounding areas. Everything from the boiler is contained in the tank. Multiple blowdowns are possible before needing to empty the tank. The design is being reviewed by the USPTO for Utility Patent.
A well-maintained steam boiler requires regular blowdown events to eject the impurities left behind when the water carrying them transforms to steam. Reimers blowdown tanks are designed and fabricated to comply with industry standards to reduce the pressure and temperature of blowdown boiler water before discharge to the facility drain. Most local and state regulations require boiler blowdown water temperature less than 140oF before it can enter the main drain system. Reimers blowdown tanks and separators are available in a variety of sizes to fit any specification and can be configured for heat recovery to preheat boiler feedwater, for discharge to drain, or any application.
