Brewing with electric is more popular than in the past.  Electric boilers for brewing systems are compact and easily installed.   There    are no tanks or fuel lines to install.  No vent holes are needed in the roof or walls. In fact with a Reimers electric boiler the blowdown water    can be stored in a closed tank and released to the sewer. The closed tank is just what it says, no vent pipes or need to cut walls or roof openings.     Blowdowns are suggested to release settled minerals and solids from the boiler vessel.  When this is done routinely the vessel stays cleaner and    last longer.    

Electric powered brewing systems are convenient for a few reasons. They don't require the use of diesel or propane. Electric is less expensive in many        areas and is always a good environmental choice.  There is no chance of running out of fuel before the end of the brew day. You        can heat strike water, mashing, sparging, or boiling, and the electric elements turn off and on when needed.
